My children and I love to incorporate different themes and holidays into our homeschool days. Dr. Seuss Day/Read Across America day is a perfect opportunity to do just that! Today, I have asked some of my friends to share their best Dr. Seuss Day activities! Your homeschoolers will love these games, activities, crafts, and snacks.

What is Dr. Seuss Day?

Dr. Seuss Day, on March 2nd, honors the imaginative and creative legacy of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss. This beloved children’s author and illustrator captivates kids and helps them to fall in love with reading with whimsical tales, silly rhymes, and colorful characters to this day. Each year, we remember his birthday and the impact he has had and continues to have on children’s literature. 

What is Read Across America?

Read Across America is the nation’s largest celebration of reading. This year-round program focuses on motivating children and teens to read through events, partnerships, and reading resources that are about everyone, for everyone. Read Across America offers limitless opportunities for involvement in children’s reading throughout the year, but includes big celebrations of reading on March 2 and throughout National Reading Month in March.
